Help Raise Funds for Autism

Ali Edwards just posted this and while I know I have very few, if any, people that read this blog I want to help if I can. Ali's badge is posted in the side bar. Here is her post from her blog:
Many of you have sent me emails and left comments wondering how you can help in getting the word out about autism and fundraising. This morning I received an email from Stephaine (thank you) who let me know about a new social network set up by Kevin Bacon (yep, the Kevin Bacon) called http://www.sixdegrees.org/ in partnership with Network for Good.
Here's the basics:
www.SixDegrees.org is social networking with a social conscience. Through this web site, you can learn about and support the charities of celebrities and your friends, as well as fundraise for the causes close to your heart.
By creating a Six Degrees Charity Badge you have an opportunity to raise even more money for your favorite cause! Your charity(ies) could receive a matching grant of up to $10,000. The six badges that have the most number of donations between January 18th and March 31st at 11:59pm ET will get a matching grant from Kevin Bacon. Multiple donations from a single individual to the same Six Degrees Charity Badge will only be counted once.
The process is easy; all you have to do is created a Six Degrees Charity Badge and you will automatically be eligible to receive the matching grant. Once you have created your badge, post it online or send a link to it (sample) via email to your family and friends so that they can help to support your effort.
Over on the right side of my blog you will see my badge to raise money for Autism Speaks. I really think that we could get enough donations to receive a matching grant. Here is your chance to make a difference.
And, thank you.

January 2007 Roundup

One of my goals this year/with this blog is to do Katie the Scrapbook Lady's Roundup each month. I hope that it will help come journaling time with personality layouts and with just basically remembering life : )

What books and/or magazines did I read this month?
I finished reading my 5th Aunt Dimity book that I borrowed from Mom. They are cozy mysteries with a recipe at the end of each book.
Finished rereading one Rita Mae and Sneaky Pie Brown's Miss Murphy books and started a second one. Something about a female character and her pets solving murders is just so fun to read. I am excited that this month there will be a new Aunt Dimity and a new Mrs. Murphy book.

What movies and/or tv shows did I watch this month?
So much TV that I will have to just list by category
With Elisa:
Live tv - Noggin is on all the time at our house with Sprout being the nighttime tv fav
TiVo - Blue's Clues (over 50 episodes); Jack's Big Music Show; Upside Down Show; Backyardigans; The Wiggles; Higgly Town Heroes; Handy Mandy

With Efrain:
Not much live tv but we are an ABC household
TiVo - Desperate Housewives; Men in Trees; Grey's Anatomy; Ugly Betty; What About Brian
Online-Caught up on Session 2 of Prison Break after borrowing Session 1 from a friend; Day Break (just found out they are still showing these online)

Movies
Devil Wears Prada and Ice Princess are the only ones sticking in my mind

What special days did I celebrate and how?
First meeting at the new Kingdom Hall was great and even more special since it was Efrain's first time as reader of the WT.

What gifts did I give and/or receive?
Didn't give but set up my mom's Craft Robo from my dad
Chipped in on a Prisma Color pencil set for my cousin

Got some games from my cousin and aunt and the cutest doll for Elisa from my grandma
Mom got me a Prisma Color pen set that I have been wanting forever

What illnesses or health concerns did I have?
Everyone has had the flu that last forever but my headaches seem to be better with the new glasses from my parents. The eye dr was the first one to say that I my eyes are not balanced so one over strains. These glasses are also supper light.

What fun things did I do with my friends and/or family?
Got together with my grandma, aunt, cousin, parents and sister in Woodland.
Cropped(ok more chatted then cropped) before our TLC Elk Grove team meeting, though I was late
Princess House party at my mom's

What new foods, recipes or restaurants did I try this month?
Jamba Juice's Berry Lime Sublime
Tazo Chai Tea Latte from Starbucks

What special or unusual purchases did I make?
Treated myself to Stacy Julian's Library Of Memories (LOM) class on www.bigpicturescrapbooking.com
Target storage cubes to make new scrapbook desk legs and category organizers for my LOM class
Efrain had a Staples employee discount in January (they don't always) so we got: a new desk, HP Photosmart C5180 All in one printer, maxed out memory on our desktop and my laptop

What were this month's disappointments?
Has been very cold and the school district and union can't agree on the teacher contract for this year (benefits and COLA increase issues as always)

What were my accomplishments this month?
Looks like I finally made Director with TLC! So excited to start working my TLC business more so I can try to go part time teaching soon.
Elisa is talking so much and is sooo smart. She started identifying written letters and numbers this month!

Anything else noteworthy to record?
Going to get in a scrapbook grove with my LOM class and Ali Edward's word challenge. My word this year is clean. More on that soon : )
