I got a blog award!

I am so humble to get a blog award from my buddy Debi at http://just4teachers.blogspot.com/ , especially when I have been such a bad blogger lately. Thanks so much Debi for making my month and sharing so much on your blogs :)

Ok, so 7 things about me

1. I am now teaching kindergarten! It has been an interesting 16 days of school so far and I'm glad I was at least switched the day before school started :)

2. I love using technology with kids and was the technology teacher at Highlands Elementary for 7 years. 


3.  I have 3 blogs, am in charge of our school website and oversee a daily CAFE yahoo group.  My classroom blog is a work in process as I switch from my first grade blog, http://ortunosocean.edublogs.org/ to my kinder blog http://mrsortunosocean.blogspot.com/. 

My 3rd blog is my WholeBrainTeaching blog, http://scrapbunnywbt.blogspot.com/ and my school website is http://www.pittsburg.k12.ca.us/stoneman/

4. I love scrapbooking but have very little time for it so LOVE My Memories Suite because it is so fast to make a book.

5.  I don't like to shop for clothes or groceries but love to garage sale 

6.  I repeated second grade, was home schooled in 4th and skipped 8th grade.

7.  I live in the same town I teach in and my daughter goes to my school.

I love 5MinutedForMom so I thought I would join their blog party. This is my little spot in the internet word that I started when I was a consultant for a scrapbook company. Blog Day

Ok I am actually a little late posting this but I haven't gone to bed yet so it is still Friday to me : )

Today is Blog Day 2007 and as part of Blog Day, bloggers are challenged to find and share 5 new blogs that they find interesting. My five for 2007:

1. Lessons From the Scrapbook Page As I posted here before one of my TLC uplines gave everyone who attended Convention this year a copy of the book Real Women Scrap by Tasra Dawson. Love the book and LOVE the blog. I even won a box of candy from my first visit to her blog : )

2. http://twomomsinablog.com/ I found this great blog through the End of Summer Blog -a- bration on Tasra's blog. This blog is a must read each day for me now. There are a ton of contests and great advise mixed with a lot of fun.

3. 5 Minutes For Mom A few of the blogs I have read for a long time started posting Wordless Wednesdays which I thought was a great idea. Those lead me to this great mommy blog that is packed to the max with info, fun and readers. If you are reading this blog now you probably found me through Wordless Wednesdays or Tackle It Tuesdays : ) My Tackles aren't going as well as I hoped but I am meeting a lot of great people from this blog.

4. Slurping Life is one of the blogs I found through Wordless Wednesdays. Just the title brings a smile to my face each time I go to Melody's blog : Slurping Life before the laundry kills me.

5. THE "Kreative Karma" Karma is also a TLC consultant as well as a member of the TLC design team. I found she blog through ubber talented Krystal Hartley's blog. Karma and her family recently moved and her latest posts about the spiders in her new home have me super happy to be living in California : )

Firsts

Well this is my first tag. I was reading a TLC friend's blog

1. Who was your first prom date?
Fred at the Senior Ball in Logan, UT. Didn't go to my prom for my school in California

2. Who was your first roommate?
April from Utah, Amy from Alaska and Thung from Vietnam in Logan, UT across the street from Utah State

3. What alcoholic beverage did you drink when you got drunk the first time?
Jake Daniels and wine coolers. First and only time, I hate the taste of alcohol.

4. What was your first job?
Baby sitting was my first paying job but Long John Silver's was my first W-2

5. What was your first car?
Red 1960's Chevy pickup truck that my dad and I rewired for my senior project for high school.

6. When did you go to your first funeral?
I might have gone to some as a small child but I think my grandfather's when I was 8 was the first.

7. How old were you when you first moved away from your hometown? 2 months before I turned 18 to go to college a few weeks after graduation.

8. Who was your first grade teacher? I have no idea, but I know my mom has it in a scrapbook at her house.

9. Where did you go on your first ride on an airplane?
To Georgia on a 4-H exchange trip. I turned 16 on the trip.

10. When you snuck out of your house for the first time, who was it with? I never snuck out of the house

11. Who was your first Best Friend and are you still friends with them? Clarisa when I was 5. Nope we moved

12. Where did you live the first time you moved out of your parents house? Logan, UT

13. Who is the first person you call when you have a bad day? Efrain or Mom

14. Who's wedding were you in the first time you were a bridesmaid or a groomsmen? Was suppose to be in 2 weddings but one got cancelled and the other was out of state when I was 8 1/2 months pregnant.

15. What is the first thing you do in the morning? Snuggle with Elisa. First thing out of bed is try to have Elisa go to the bathroom since we are potty training her.

16. What was the first concert you ever went to?
Lots of county fair concerts growing up but first real one was ZZ Top in Jr High or high school was my Dad and sister.

17. First tattoo or piercing?
Ears pierced in high school and multiple times after that since the second I take out the ear rings the holes close up. Have left the holes closed since I was pregnant.

18. First celebrity crush?
Christian Slater

19. Age of first kiss? 14 or 15

20. First love?
First real love: my husband. All other "love" was very juvenile and high schooly

21. Are you still in love with your first love? Yes
